RF-170 Sunglasses – Purple/Mode Blue

Needles and FACTORY900 present their first collaborative project: two styles of sunglasses in two different colours - the RF-170 & the RF-064C.

With the tagline THE FUTURES EYEWEAR, FACTORY900 uses 3D modelling to manufacture three-dimensional acetate frames. The RF-064C features an asymmetrical, randomly arranged diamond pattern that gives off a beautiful shine through the irregular reflection and refraction of light, and the RF-170 is a simple round shape with a metal inner rim.

FACTORY900 was launched in 2000 as a house brand of AOYAMA Optical. "900" is derived from the number designated to the factory by the Japanese government.

AOYAMA Optical is a small factory that has been manufacturing acetate frames for three generations over the last 80 years in Fukui, where 95% of Japan's eyewear frames are manufactured. During AOYAMA Optical's history, they have always challenged themselves, and finally have obtained magnificent acetate frame-forming techniques.
